We people use calendar to see a list of social events, date, month, appointments, etc. I am sure no one will be use to see when is Nepal Bandh. Nepal Bandh is a kind of events in Nepal. “Nepal Bandh” means “Nepal closed”, is a form of protest. While often means the closing down of markets of a city for the day, but there have been instances of entire nation coming to a standstill.
No one use calendar to see when is Nepal Bandh, and even there is no any calendar published where we can see the dates of Nepal Bandh. Many People will be in trouble, because they are not informed earlier. You can see a few photos who are in trobule, that I have taken from Nepalnews.
So all the Nepalese people, dont worry, some guys are helping us to see the “Nepal Bandh Events”, I guess this must be the first site in Nepal, who is publishing online calendar, giving information on Nepal Bandh. Our site came online on 12-Jun-2007 and it has just been a couple days, so we are still working towards making this site truly helpful to everyone.
I cannot stress enough that, though our website might portray a negative impact at first sight, it must be understood that those negativisms are not created by NepalBandh.com but the parties calling out the bandh events. We merely put it up on the event calendar to help.
Also, there might be errors while reporting bandh events, but this is where each visitors have the opportunity to correct us by providing genuine bandh info. This is a collective effort.
We hope to send out bandh events, news, pictures and stories from bandh effected areas through our newsletter. We also hope to receive much cooperation to this context from all the visitors.
Lastly, we honestly hope, we will not be required to put up another bandh event in the coming days. Lets’ hope for the better.
